What a difference a week makes! Groups and individuals are signing up for shifts for our March 14 pack. Churches are raising money. Ms. Ratcliffe, principal of Patrick Henry has scheduled Stop Hunger Now assemblies for March 4 to get her students involved. We have a spot on WSLS at noon on Tuesday, March 9.
As soon as you can, please send checks made out to Stop Hunger Now (note at bottom that it’s for the Roanoke event) to:
St. Elizabeth’s Episcopal Church,
PO Box 4706
Roanoke, VA 24015.
The public is invited to our second organizational meeting on Monday, February 22 at 7:00 at St. Elizabeth’s Episcopal Church, 2339 Grandin Road (near Patrick Henry). We’ll see how far we’ve gotten and what needs to be done. Please come and be part of this exciting ecumenical effort.
How about “Stop Hunger Now: America”? Crazy idea, I know.

Stop Hunger Now has helped people in the United States. For a full list of countries they have alleviated hunger in, visit: http://www.stophungernow.org/site/PageServer?pagename=what_aid
Locally our program is neccesarily smaller in focus and scope and we are hoping to let people’s natural instinct to help and reach out to those in Haiti who are in such dire straits and find an outlet that is more tangible than simply writing a check.
However, if you are in need, know that the Roanoke Rescue Mission provides a meal to anyone who comes.

I would like to sign up to volunteer for packing food items for Haiti relief. Please advise on how I proceed with this.
